The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with four Czech radars and are ready to start training Ukrainians on F-16s as soon as possible

The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with four Czech VERA-EG radars worth 150 million euros. This was announced by the Dutch Minister of Defense in a letter to the Parliament.

Defense Minister Kees Ollongren explains that these are passive radars (i.e., those that do not emit their own radio signal but only pick up other people's signals) and are capable of locating, identifying and tracking targets over land and sea.

The minister's letter primarily refers to plans to train Ukrainian pilots on American F-16 fighters.

Kaisa Ollongren reiterates the idea that the club of countries preparing to provide Ukraine with these aircraft intends to start training as soon as possible and establish an F-16 training center in one of the Eastern European NATO countries.

Background. As a reminder, the American manufacturer of Patriot systems is "very surprised" by the effectiveness of these systems in Ukraine.
