Zelensky to African leaders: Any diplomatic relations with russia should be frozen
He emphasized that the food crisis in Africa is not Ukraine's fault, but russia's, which has blocked the Black and Azov Seas

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who hosted a delegation of African countries in Kyiv, said that in his opinion, countries should freeze all diplomatic relations with russia until it withdraws its troops from Ukrainian territories, and thus make it clear to moscow that the international community condemns its invasion of Ukraine.

He also noted that any peace talks between Kyiv and moscow will be possible only after the withdrawal of russian troops from Ukraine.
"We have a real need for real peace and the real withdrawal of russian troops from the territory of independent Ukraine," Zelensky emphasized.
A delegation of the Peace Initiative led by South African leader Cyril Ramaphosa arrived in Kyiv to begin talks with both sides of the conflict and initiate this dialogue by starting with issues that are not directly related to the military situation.
The delegation of seven African countries says they have a vested interest in ending the conflict, as many African countries depend on Ukrainian grain and russian fertilizers, the supply of which has been affected by the war.
Zelenskyy said that it is not Ukraine that is to blame for the food shortages and the growing food crisis on the continent, but russia, which has blocked the Black and Azov Seas.
The African delegation intends to visit russia.
President Zelensky said he could not prevent them from meeting with putin in St. Petersburg, but he sees no need for such diplomatic initiatives at this time.
Background. Today, the South African president visited a mass grave in Bucha, where 458 civilians are buried. Before that, he had to hide in a shelter from russian bombing.
