Bloomberg: Putin's image badly shaken after Prigozhin's 'rebellion'
Confrontation in the Russian government is far from over

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was able to prevent armed mercenaries from the Wagner PMC from appearing in Moscow at the last minute, but his image as a ruler with full political control over the country has been severely shaken.
Source. Bloomberg writes about this, analyzing the consequences of Saturday's mutiny by the head of the mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin.
The publication, citing sources, claims that Putin ignored repeated warnings about the approach of Wagner fighters to Moscow, which shocked his cronies.
Instead, the Russian leader allowed the mercenaries to get so close that regional authorities had to deploy tanks and engage the military for defense. This has sowed considerable doubt about Putin's ability to govern the country.
As the newspaper notes, this is a rare case where Moscow and the West largely agree on the event.
The United States and the EU also believe that Putin's reputation and absolute power have been dealt a powerful blow. And the ambiguous deal with Prigozhin, who agreed not to go to Moscow, does not mean a return to the status quo.
The confrontation in the Russian government is far from over, Bloomberg writes.
