The Cabinet ratifies Energoatom's corporatisation plan
100% of JSC shares will belong to the state

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the plan to transform the state enterprise, the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Energoatom, into a joint-stock company, 100% of whose shares will belong to the state.
This is mentioned in a statement by the Ministry of Economy.
"This is another step in fulfilling Ukraine's international obligations to align the management of state enterprises with the best global standards of corporate governance," the Energoatom company commented on the government's decision.
Background. Energoatom expects to complete the corporatisation under an optimistic scenario – within half a year, under a pessimistic one – within a year.
On 6 February, law No. 8067 on the corporatisation of the state enterprise NNEGC Energoatom was adopted.
The law establishes restrictions related to the preservation of the state's corporate rights, the property of nuclear power plants, nuclear materials, and facilities designed for handling radioactive waste.
Energoatom is the largest producer of electricity in Ukraine. The company operates four nuclear power plants: Zaporizhzhia, Rivne, South Ukraine, and Khmelnytskyi.
