Commander of the British Armed Forces: Russia is well prepared for defense, but Ukraine's main forces have not yet attacked
He urged not to apply "unfair terms" to the Ukrainian offensive

Britain's highest-ranking military commander, Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, addressed the House of Commons Defense Committee and told parliamentarians about his vision of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
Source. This was reported by a BBC correspondent.
"You can see that Ukrainian forces have not yet broken through the defensive lines that Russia has dug over the winter," the admiral said. – "They (the Ukrainian Armed Forces – ed.) are in the security zone and are still waiting to take the first defensive lines. We expect that Ukraine will engage some of the second echelon forces it has. In our assessment, Russia has very effective defense lines. The density of minefields that Ukraine has to overcome is probably greater than expected. And then there are all the tactical problems: Ukraine has no air cover, it has not received all the equipment it needs."
At the same time, "the counteroffensive has not yet been fully realized," the admiral said. Ukraine is striking at logistics and command centers and forcing Russia to stretch its forces with distractions.
The Chief of the Defense Staff called for not applying "unfair terms" to the Ukrainian offensive.
"This counteroffensive was not supposed to be launched in one act. – "It was supposed to be cautious and methodical. Nothing was supposed to happen quickly."
He does not expect a counteroffensive from Russia in response: "Russia is so weak, it doesn't have the strength to mount a significant counteroffensive," he said.
Background. Earlier, British intelligence reported that Russia has improved its tactics to slow down the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
