Ukrenergo conducts first electricity import from Poland via upgraded power line

The Ukrainian energy system has for the first time conducted an electricity import from Poland to Ukraine via an interstate power transmission line that was modernised and switched on in May 2023. It is clarified that the energy system received 800 MW of capacity during the peak consumption period.

This is reported by Ukrenergo.

In addition, import from Slovakia and Moldova continued throughout the previous day with a maximum capacity of up to 350 MW during daytime and evening hours. It is pointed out that import from Slovakia is planned from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. up to 340 MW today, as well as from Moldova – up to 3 MW.

It is reported that, as a result of hostilities, 397 settlements on the front line and border regions remain without electricity. Meanwhile, networks in Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia were damaged due to shelling.

Background. Mind previously reported that the Ukrainian energy system added 1,000 MW of capacity.
