Officials tell putin that traffic on the Crimean bridge will resume no earlier than 15 September
SBU source tells CNN that the attack was a joint operation of SBU and Ukrainian Navy
Traffic on the Crimean bridge will resume in one lane only on 15 September, russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said.
"Until September 15, two-way traffic will be open only in one lane. Then two-way traffic on both lanes will be opened on November 1," he said at a remote meeting with officials, including russian President vladimir putin, which was broadcast on television on Monday, CNN reports.
"One part of the railroad bridge sustained minor damage that does not affect train traffic," he assured.
Two strikes on the bridge were reportedly carried out around 3 a.m., damaging part of the bridge.
A source in the SBU told CNN on condition of anonymity that the attack was a joint operation between the SBU and the Ukrainian Navy.
As reported, the russian Defense Ministry is preparing proposals on how to respond to the attack on the Crimean bridge, putin said.
"This crime is meaningless, from a military point of view it has no significance, since the Crimean bridge has not been used for military transportation for a long time. Of course, there will be a response from russia. The Ministry of Defense is preparing appropriate proposals," the russian dictator said.
