Five EU countries seek to extend ban on agricultural imports from Ukraine until year end – Reuters
Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia to ask the EU to make the respective decision

Five EU countries intend to continue the ban on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine until the end of the year, as reported by Reuters.
According to the publication, the ban on the import of Ukrainian food was supposed to last until 15 September. However, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia will request the European Union to extend the operation of the decision at least until the end of 2023.
Reuters adds that the countries are also considering the possibility of individually expanding the list of banned goods. At present, the list includes wheat, corn, rapeseed, and sunflower seeds.
"It is clear that Ukraine, given its size and all that it produces and exports to Europe, burdens the market. The same situation has arisen with chicken meat, eggs, honey," emphasised Hungarian Minister of Agriculture, István Nagy.
