Rheinmetall to provide Ukraine with two advanced Skynex air defense systems by the end of the year

German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall will provide the Ukrainian army with two Skynex air defense systems.

"In the second half of 2023, Ukraine will receive two newest Skynex air defense missile systems, which include airburst munitions. The Skynex systems will be installed on new Rheinmetall HX 8x8 military trucks," the statement said.
Skynex is a 35 mm self-propelled anti-aircraft gun developed and manufactured by Rheinmetall.
It was introduced in November 2021. The Skynex is a wheeled self-propelled anti-aircraft gun equipped with an Oerlikon Mk3 rifled automatic gun for 35 mm AHEAD rounds.
The main purpose of the complex is to protect military bases, infrastructure facilities, and airfields from various types of enemy aircraft, UAVs, and cruise missiles.
