The West still has not defined a plan for training Ukrainian pilots on F-16s – Politico
11 countries have supported training, but none have allocated planes for this programme

The US and partner countries have yet to define a plan to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets. Denmark and the Netherlands are reported to be leading a coalition of 11 countries that support the training, but none have yet allocated planes for this programme.
This is reported by Politico citing three US officials.
It is clarified that one of the proposals under discussion involves sending Ukrainian pilots to the United States for training at the 162nd Wing of the Air National Guard, based in Tucson, Arizona.
At the same time, according to two US officials and one European official, this idea has not received the necessary support.
"Cooperation continues. We are working with our partners and allies to determine the most practical way to implement this plan," one US official stated.
It is noted that another plan involves sending American military pilots to Europe to train Ukrainians. However, according to two US officials, no final decisions have been made.
In addition, US officials believe that the fighter jets will not arrive in Ukraine until at least spring 2024.
Background. Mind previously reported that, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the sooner Ukraine got the F-16 fighters, the sooner it would create a new secure grain corridor.
