Ukraine has returned the bodies of another 44 fallen defenders.
This is reported by the Ministry of Reintegration.
The repatriation of bodies from temporarily occupied territories was facilitated by the Ministry of Reintegration, the Commissioner for the Disappeared in cooperation with the Joint Centre under the SBU, the Armed Forces Central Military Hospital, other security structures, departments, and international organisations.
The ministry emphasises that the transfer of the bodies of fallen soldiers was carried out in accordance with the norms of the Geneva Conventions. After identification, the bodies of the fallen soldiers will be handed over to their families for dignified burial.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Ukraine had returned the bodies of another 62 fallen defenders. Four of them died in enemy captivity due to injuries, illness, and inadequate medical care.
