Zaporizhzhia NPP lost power from main 750 kV line at night – Energoatom
The power station has been switched to a reserve 330 kV line, the disconnection of which threatens a blackout

The temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant lost power from its main 750 kV high-voltage supply line at night and was switched to a reserve 330 kV line. The disconnection of the latter threatens a station blackout.
This was reported by Energoatom.
It is noted that in the event of a blackout, the occupiers' transition of the 4th power unit to a hot shutdown state poses a nuclear threat. It is clarified that the enemy is operating the NPP in violation of the licensing conditions for operating nuclear reactor installations, set by the Ukrainian regulator.
The acting CEO of Energoatom, Taras Tkach, emphasised that in case of loss of external power, circulation pumps would be disconnected, and the power unit woild enter a natural circulation mode. "In this case, it is urgently necessary to cool down the unit in the absence of cooling pumps," stressed Tkach.
It is clarified that such a mode is strenuous for the reactor installation, and its duration is limited by the project. It can lead to the failure of the power unit's main equipment.
