Lindner: Germany intends to allocate €5 billion annually for weapons for Ukraine
However, this proposal must first be approved by the country's parliament

The German government will submit to the Bundestag a plan for military support for Ukraine, which provides for the annual transfer of weapons worth €5 billion to Kyiv by 2027.
This was announced by German Finance Minister Christian Lindner during a visit to Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
He clarified that the decision to allocate €5 million for military support to Ukraine is still to be approved by the German parliament.
According to Lindner, Germany also provides humanitarian aid to Kyiv, supports Ukrainian internally displaced persons, and pays contributions to the IMF, which also supports the Ukrainian economy.
In general, Lindner noted, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Germany's assistance to Ukraine had amounted to €22 billion.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised to spend about €17 billion on weapons for Ukraine between 2022 and 2027.
On July 13, the German government unveiled a new military aid package for Ukraine, which included air defence systems and other weapons.
The German Finance Minister reportedly supports the provision of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
