The first vessel has departed from the Odessa port through a temporary corridor
The container ship had been in the port since 23 February 2022

The first vessel has left the Odessa port since the end of 16 July. The container ship JOSEPH SCHULTE, sailing under the Hong Kong flag, is navigating a corridor established for civilian vessels to and from Ukrainian ports.
This was announced by Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration, and the Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov.
The container ship had been docked at the port since 23 February 2022. It is en route to the Bosporus, carrying over 30,000 tonnes of cargo, including food supplies.
"The last time a vessel left was on 16 July from Odessa port under the Black Sea Grain Initiative. Following the breakdown of the grain deal, the russian federation resorted to systematic aerial attacks on port infrastructure to halt Ukrainian agro-exports. Alongside this, there have been observed media speculations and provocations in the Black Sea attempting to influence vessel movement to Ukrainian ports," added the minister.
Background. Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Navy announced temporary corridors for commercial vessels travelling to or from Ukrainian ports.
