Ukrainian Embassy threatens to block Hasidim's access to Uman if deportation of Ukrainians from Israel does not stop
Ambassador calls on Prime Minister Netanyahu to reconsider entry policy towards Ukrainians and intervene in this matter

Israeli citizens will be banned from entering the city of Uman, Cherkasy Oblast, and Ukraine will terminate its visa waiver agreement with Israel if the deportation of Ukrainians from Israel does not stop.
Source. This is stated in a message posted on the Facebook page of the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel.
"The government of Ukraine will not tolerate the humiliation of its citizens when entering Israel. We will terminate our bilateral visa-free agreements, as provided for in Article 7 of the intergovernmental agreement. This option is on the table of our government. It is inconceivable that we will have to make every effort to receive tens of thousands of Israelis in Uman, with great security risk and with enormous logistical efforts, when, on the other hand, the Israeli government is abusing our citizens who come to Israel under the agreement between the two countries," said Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk.
According to Interfax-Ukraine, the message was conveyed in President Volodymyr Zelensky's recent address to the nation and in the words of Korniychuk, who called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to review the entry policy for Ukrainians and intervene in the matter.
"If Israel wants its citizens to be able to come to Ukraine as tourists, in particular to Uman, I believe that the prime minister should personally intervene to find a solution to the current state of affairs," the ambassador said.
The embassy notes that earlier Zelensky said at his weekly briefing that he had heard a report from the Border Guard Service, the Foreign Ministry, and the intelligence service on the treatment of Ukrainian citizens abroad, and that those responsible for these issues had been given appropriate tasks to ensure that the rights of Ukrainian citizens were guaranteed. Korniychuk later clarified that Zelensky's words referred to Israel.
As reported, two weeks earlier, the Cherkasy Oblast Military Administration recommended that Hasidim refrained from visiting Uman on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, but began taking measures to enhance the safety of guests and locals.
