Zelensky: Greece will take part in training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters
The president also called on Athens to protect the Black Sea corridor with air defence systems

Greece will take part in the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said after negotiations with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Athens on Monday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"Today we have an important result for the aviation coalition. Greece will take part in training our pilots on F-16s," he said.
"We are grateful that there will be Greek defence support for Ukraine, our teams are working out the relevant details," the head of state noted.
According to President Zelensky, "it is very important that Greek companies are ready to participate in the transportation of Ukrainian grain. We are counting on it very much."
He called on Greece to protect the Black Sea corridor with air defence systems
"We are doing everything to restore security on the Black Sea coast. Ukraine has created an alternative grain corridor. It can work, but for its operation to be stable, we need to strengthen the air shield and this is very important for the Black Sea region, in particular the city of Odesa," the president said.
"And this can be a historic contribution of Greece if you help us with the protection of the Black Sea area with air defence systems," he stated.
He also emphasised the importance of Greece joining the G-7 Declaration on Security Assurances for Ukraine. "We will continue this work at the bilateral level," Zelensky pointed out.
Background. To recap, Zelensky said that Swedish CV90 combat vehicles would be manufactured in Ukraine.
