Intelligence reports that Russians are flooding ferries to protect Crimean bridge
GUR reported "feverish decisions of the enemy and intellectual crisis"

Russians are sinking ferries to protect the Crimean bridge, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has said.
"In the area of the Kerch Strait, near the illegal bridge between Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea (coordinates: 45.2432237; 36.5845773), Russian invaders are conducting preparatory work to sink the second ferry," the statement said.
The intelligence service claims that the Russian army plans to sink at least six boats to create a protective strip in front of the bridge. Between the flooded ferries, the Russians intend to install boom barriers.
"A simple measure to protect the 19-kilometer bridge in the form of flooding ferries indicates the feverishness of the enemy's decisions and the intellectual crisis within the military and political leadership of terrorist Russia," the intelligence added.
The booby-traps, which the Russian occupiers are using to protect the Crimean bridge from new attacks by marine drones, will significantly complicate the task of the Ukrainian military. At the same time, with the right approach, even the booby-traps can be broken through, and the bridge itself or part of it can be destroyed, military expert Roman Svitan said earlier on Channel 24.
"These barriers are to prevent the glider from approaching, to prevent our MAGURA V5 drones from approaching, because it is difficult for a drone to break through a booby trap. However, if a pair is coming, it is possible for the pair to go together – the first one blows it up, and the second one already passes through the blown-up barrier. In theory, we can find a mechanism to get through these coupons," he said.
Since August 2022, the sounds of explosions have been heard almost daily in Crimea and Sevastopol. The head of the occupation authorities of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, called drones the "main threat" to Crimea.
In October 2022, an explosion occurred on the Crimean Bridge. Another explosion occurred on the bridge on July 17, 2023. On August 12, Russian authorities reported two more attacks on the bridge.
