Germany has detained the former head of a Baden-Württemberg-based company that, in violation of sanctions, supplied machines for the production of sniper rifles to Russia.

According to the publication, in 2015, despite the sanctions, Ulli S. signed contracts with the Russians for the supply of high-precision machines, and in 2016 the company conducted trainings in Russia on how to work on these machines.
The detainee is accused of violating several German laws, in particular, those on the control of weapons intended for warfare.
