Ukraine's national team withdraws from the Dota 2 World Championships due to the admission of Russians
The day before, the IESF lifted the ban on Russian teams' participation in international competitions

Ukraine's Dota 2 team has withdrawn from the International Esports Federation (IESF) World Championships due to the IESF's decision to allow Russian athletes to participate in international competitions under the national flag and with the national anthem, Ukrainian team member Ivan (Kidaro) Bondarev told Cybersport.
Ukraine's esports team was scheduled to play a lower-seeded World Cup playoff match against Indonesia. The team was declared a technical defeat. The Russian national team is not participating in this tournament.
"After the news and the fact that this is the final decision to ban Russia, there is no longer any desire to participate in the competition," Bondarev said.
The day before, the IESF lifted the ban on Russian teams playing at international competitions under the national flag and with the anthem. This decision was supported by 32 delegates to the federation's congress, 13 spoke out against it, and 25 abstained.
The Dota 2 World Championship is taking place from August 26 to September 3 in Iasi, Romania, with teams competing for a prize pool of $100,000.
