The United States, the United Kingdom, and the EU are going to put pressure on the United Arab Emirates to stop supplying goods from this country to Russia.

On September 4, a delegation of Western officials arrived in the UAE to negotiate the inadmissibility of supplying computer chips, electronic components and other dual-use products to Russia, which, in addition to the civilian sphere, can be used in the military.
The UAE did not join the sanctions against Russia. At the same time, the country's authorities claimed that they did not want to be a transshipment point through which Western companies circumvent these restrictions.
Earlier, it was reported that the UAE has become a key center for Russian gold trading. In 2022, according to the Russian customs, Russia imported 75 tons of gold worth $4.3 billion, while in 2021 it imported only 1.3 tons.
In August, it became known that Russian airlines had purchased $1.2 billion worth of sanctioned aircraft parts since the beginning of the war. They were shipped through intermediary companies in the UAE, Turkey, China, and Kyrgyzstan.
Background. As a reminder, the United States froze the assets of Indian diamond companies for their cooperation with Russia's Alrosa. Meanwhile, the Indian government is negotiating with the United States to unblock the freeze.
