"Our government will support Ukraine as long as necessary... Today we are making a long-term, multi-year commitment that provides predictable and stable support for Ukraine," the Canadian prime minister said.
The armored vehicles will be built in London, Ontario, Trudeau said, at a cost of $483 million.
Canada will also join the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets, the Canadian prime minister emphasized.
"We will send instructors to train Ukrainian pilots and maintenance personnel on F-16s so that they can make the most of the transferred fighters," Trudeau added.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Canada has provided Ukraine with military, humanitarian and financial assistance worth about $6.6 billion.
