Orban: Hungary will not support Ukraine on any issue "until the rights of ethnic Hungarians are restored"
Hungary is a member of the European Union and NATO, which gives it the right to veto Ukraine's accession to these organizations

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, speaking in parliament, said that Budapest would not support Ukraine on any issue in the international arena until "Ukraine restores the former rights of ethnic Hungarians on its territory."
Source. This was reported by Reuters.
This is not the first time that Hungary has accused Ukraine of infringing on the rights of approximately 150,000 ethnic Hungarians in Zakarpattia because of a law passed in 2017 that restricts schooling in minority languages.
Hungary is a member of the European Union and NATO, which gives it the right to veto Ukraine's accession to these organizations. At the same time, Orban takes a special position on many issues, which does not coincide with the line of most Western countries.
Background. Earlier, Hungary demanded that the EU lift sanctions against nine Russian oligarchs and their relatives.
