CNN: 'Certain types of US economic aid' depend on how Kyiv fights corruption
If any of the allocated funds are misappropriated, it will jeopardize all US aid

The United States has been urging Ukraine to do more to fight government corruption and has sent several messages to Kyiv in recent weeks warning that certain types of economic aid will be linked to progress in reforming state institutions.
Source. This was reported by CNN, citing several US officials.
The Biden administration's commitment to supporting Ukraine's Armed Forces remains unchanged, but officials have made it clear that other forms of U.S. aid could be jeopardized if the Ukrainian government does not make efforts to fight corruption.
"The message to the Ukrainians has always been that if any of these funds are misappropriated, it will jeopardize all U.S. assistance," one U.S. official told CNN.
In late summer, the State Department sent an official diplomatic note to Kyiv stating that the U.S. expects Ukraine to continue its efforts to fight corruption and ensure financial transparency in order to continue receiving direct budget support, according to three officials familiar with the matter.
The document also emphasized the need for reforms under the IMF program, including those related to combating money laundering and terrorist financing, a source told CNN.
In a statement, the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington said that Kyiv is moving forward with reforms, including under the IMF program.
