Stoltenberg: Ukraine has depleted NATO's military stockpiles
He emphasized that it is necessary to increase production, and speed is of the essence

Active military assistance to Ukraine has significantly depleted the Alliance's own stockpiles, so its members should immediately increase production to ensure their own defense.
This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference in Stockholm with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
"Our security depends on our technological superiority and our defense industry," Stoltenberg emphasized, "So it is important that large companies both within and outside the Alliance participate in this.
Increasing production is needed both to meet Ukraine's needs and to defend the Alliance countries themselves, the Secretary General said.
"As Russia prepares to use winter as a weapon of war once again, speed and volume of production are essential," Stoltenberg emphasized.
He also thanked Sweden for its extensive financial, humanitarian and military support to Ukraine.
Background. It has also become known that Germany is preparing a €1.4 billion winter aid package for Ukraine, including air defense equipment, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
The new "winter" package will include Patriot and IRIS-T air defense missile systems, as well as Gepard self-propelled guns. Germany is now Kyiv's second largest arms supplier after the United States.
