The Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine denies suspension of the grain corridor

The Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine denies information that the grain corridor has suspended its operation due to the Russian threat. On the evening of October 26, the Ministry published the following message:

"The information about the cancellation or unpredictable suspension of the temporary corridor for the movement of civilian vessels from and to the ports of Greater Odesa is not true. All existing routes established by the Ukrainian Navy are valid and are used by civilian vessels."

Earlier today, Reuters reported, citing Kyiv-based consulting company Barva Invest and a British security firm, that Ukraine has suspended the use of its new Black Sea grain export corridor due to a possible threat from Russian military aircraft and sea mines.

The ministry also noted that "given that the corridor was introduced in the extremely difficult conditions of Russia's military aggression, its operation is subject to the military situation and weather conditions."

They added that the ports of Greater Odesa continue to handle vessels that have already passed through the temporary corridor.
