Murder of a family in Volnovakha: occupants used thermal imagers during the attack
Russian Investigative Committee detains two people over the murder

Russia's Investigative Committee has announced the detention of two men suspected of murdering "nine residents of Volnovakha, including two children, whose bodies were found in a private house with gunshot wounds."
Source. This was reported by the BBC.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation claims that the two detainees are Russian servicemen from the Far East who are serving under contract. Their names were not mentioned in the statement of the IC.
The Cheka-OGPU Telegram channel claims to have identified the detained contract soldiers. They are 21-year-old Anton Sopov and 28-year-old Stanislav Rau.
The Russian Investigative Committee states that, according to preliminary data, the motive for the crime "was a conflict on domestic grounds."
Ukraine's Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets notes that, according to preliminary data, the victims are the Kapkanets family, who were celebrating their birthday and refused to give up their home to the Chechen occupiers.
The Donetsk regional prosecutor's office claims that "armed men demanded that the family living there vacate the house to accommodate one of the Russian army divisions. When the 53-year-old owner refused, the attackers threatened his family members with physical violence and fled. On October 27, they returned to the house and shot and killed all nine family members who were already asleep. Among the dead were three women and two minor children born in 2014 and 2018."
The advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, said that the nature of the wounds, the accuracy of the shots, and the fact that the lights were off in the house suggested that the attackers had thermal imagers.
Background. As reported, Lubinets confirmed the murder of a family of 9 people in occupied Volnovakha by the occupiers.
