"Representatives of the Ministry of National Defense and Poland's state defense concern PGZ spoke with government decision-makers in Washington and partners from the Raytheon arms concern, which is now part of the RTX technology and defense giant, realizing that Americans usually do not share the latest technology even with their most loyal allies. But it worked," the newspaper writes.
"This is important because the Polish defense industry has long sought access to American radar technology since the Polish Armed Forces decided to reinforce its Wisla medium-range air defense shield with Patriot systems," Rzeczpospolita emphasizes.
The cost of the contract was not disclosed in the report, but it is noted that the final negotiations on its terms between Warsaw and Washington are underway.
Background. As a reminder, Germany has reported that the Ukrainian military has begun a training course on the Patriot air defense system. The training will last several weeks, according to the German Air Force.
