Ukraine is extremely dependent on external financial assistance and needs $41 billion for the next year - Marchenko
It is about the assistance from the IMF and the EU, negotiations are underway to launch a 4-year program for Ukraine

Ukraine is extremely dependent on external financial assistance and will need $41 billion next year.
This was stated by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko at a briefing on Friday, November 24.
"We are highly dependent on foreign aid, and this dependence is measured in the amount of $41 billion for the next year. It includes assistance through the IMF program, we expect assistance from the European Union, and we are actively negotiating the launch of a four-year program for Ukraine. We also hope for assistance from the United States," he said.
The Minister also hopes that the government will approve the National Revenue Strategy for 2024-2030 by the end of this year. Then the implementation of the document can begin next year.
According to Mr. Marchenko, a significant increase in budget revenues is envisaged by Ukraine's cooperation program with the IMF. And one of the steps on this path is the approval of the revenue strategy, which will include effective administrative measures, policy-making in this area, and strengthening of such bodies as tax and customs.
The strategy envisages a significant increase in budget revenues thanks to the IMF cooperation program, as well as strengthening the tax and customs services.
It has been reported that Ukraine and Hungary will hold a new meeting to unblock the disbursement of the eighth tranche of €500 million from the European Peace Fund, which compensates EU states for supporting Ukraine with weapons.
The day before, EU foreign ministers failed to reach an agreement on the eighth tranche of €500 million in military aid for Ukraine due to Hungary's blocking of the decision.
As a reminder, during the summit of EU leaders, Hungarian and Slovak Prime Ministers Viktor Orban and Robert Fico opposed the allocation of €50 billion in financial aid to Ukraine.
