China claims that media rumors about its plans to build a tunnel to Crimea together with Russia are false
Earlier, WP reported that a Russian-Chinese "consortium" has already been established in Crimea and several meetings between Russians and Chinese delegates have been held

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China has denied the information of The Washington Post about joint plans with Russia to build an underwater tunnel from Russia to the temporarily occupied Crimea, calling it groundless.
"This report is groundless, I will not comment on it," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Monday at a briefing, the transcript of which was published on the ministry's website, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
As reported, on November 24, The Washington Post, citing intercepted emails provided by anonymous sources in the Ukrainian intelligence services, reported that in late October, Russian and Chinese businessmen associated with the authorities of both countries secretly discussed plans to build an underwater tunnel from Russia to the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The plan was to create a route protected from Ukrainian attacks.
At the same time, the publication claimed to have verified the authenticity of the letters against the registration documents of the companies mentioned in them.
The letters, according to the authors of the material, indicated that a Russian-Chinese "consortium" had already been established in Crimea and that several meetings had been held with delegates from China, who, in turn, were interested in the project. In particular, it was about the Chinese railroad construction company CRCC.
The article also reported that company representatives refused to comment to journalists.
