"It's going to be a long war": Israeli IDF soldiers are going to hunt for all Hamas leaders around the world
Among the targets are also leaders of the political wing of the movement, who have been living in Qatar for about 10 years

Israel's military campaign against Hamas will be long and may last all of next year. One of the main goals is to kill the three leaders of the group, but the Mossad and other Israeli intelligence services are also preparing a plan to eliminate all of its leaders. The hunt for them will be conducted around the world even after the military operation ends, as retaliation for the October 7 attack on Israel.

Israel is known for its covert operations to eliminate Nazi criminals, as well as terrorists and militants responsible for the murder of its citizens.
Currently, the intelligence services are developing plans to eliminate Hamas leaders on the orders of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Among the targets are also the leaders of the political wing of the movement, who have been living in Qatar for about 10 years. Such an operation involves not only physical but also diplomatic risks.
In recent years, Israel has been establishing ties with Arab countries, establishing diplomatic relations with some of them, and preparing to normalize relations with Saudi Arabia.
This trend was one of the reasons for the attack by Hamas, whose leadership wanted to disrupt the peace process.
Qatar, on the other hand, has become the main mediator in the current conflict, with its representatives announcing a recent ceasefire and participating in the preparation of a hostage exchange agreement.
This week, the directors of the Mossad and the US CIA visited Qatar.
Other high-ranking Hamas representatives live in Lebanon and Turkey. According to Israeli officials, the question for the country's leadership is now not whether to try to destroy the group's leaders in other countries, but where and how to do it.
For now, the immediate goal is a "decisive" victory over 24 Hamas battalions and the destruction of the group's tunnels in the Gaza Strip, several people familiar with the Israeli leadership's plans told the Financial Times.
The goal also includes the elimination of three members of Hamas' senior leadership – Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif and Marwan Issa.
"This is going to be a long war, we are not even halfway there yet to achieve our goal," said one Israeli official.
According to another, the operation in the northern part of the Gaza Strip alone is "probably 40% complete," and the city "has not yet been completely captured." The army will then move south, with one of the goals being to take control of the border with Egypt, from where weapons are smuggled to Hamas.
The truce reportedly ended, and on Friday Israel resumed its operation in Gaza, which is likely to last for several more months.
