Finland's Prosecutor General's Office launches investigation into neo-Nazi Jan Petrovsky, whose deportation is demanded by Ukraine
Law enforcement officials are examining information provided by the Ukrainian side that would confirm the need to deport the Russian

In Finland, the Central Criminal Police has launched an investigation into Jan Petrovsky, also known as Vojislav Torden.
Source. This was reported by Yle, citing Deputy Prosecutor General Juuk Rappe.
Petrovsky is suspected of committing terrorist crimes on the territory of Ukraine as a member of the neo-Nazi group Rusich.
Petrovsky was detained in Finland at the request of Kyiv, which demanded his extradition. The Finnish Supreme Court denied the request. Petrovsky was released on December 8, but was immediately detained by the Border Guard Service on his way out of prison.
According to Yle, the police, together with the Prosecutor General's Office, are studying the information provided by the Ukrainian side, which would confirm the need to expel the Russian.
After that, the Prosecutor General will decide to launch a full investigation. It is noted that the case of Petrovsky is unique, as the activities of a non-Finnish citizen who committed alleged crimes outside the country will be investigated. However, Finnish law allows for such investigations to be launched if they are "in the interests of the investigation and the administration of justice."
Petrovsky is one of the founders of the Rusich paramilitary unit, which consists of far-right radicals. This group has been fighting in Ukraine since 2014. Petrovsky, who had been living in Norway since 2004, went to war in Donbas, where he was known as "Slavyan". He was particularly cruel and cut off the ears of prisoners. He was also photographed in front of the corpses of killed Ukrainian soldiers.
Background. The day before, it was reported that Finland refused to extradite to Ukraine the militant Petrovsky, who fought on the side of Russia, instead the authorities will deport him to Russia.
