Zelensky told senators that "if he gets help, he can win this war"

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke at the U.S. Senate, where he met with leaders of both parties.
"A friendly, frank meeting in the U.S. Senate, which is an important confirmation of support for Ukraine in its struggle for independence, freedom and democracy.
I told the senators about the current security and economic situation in Ukraine and the importance of maintaining vital American support. Answered questions," Zelensky wrote on his official telegram channel.
He thanked Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell for "consolidating bipartisan support for our country and people."
Chuck Schumer also spoke with journalists. According to the Democratic leader, Zelenskyy told the senators that "if he gets help, he can win this war."
"He also made it very clear... if we lose, Putin wins," Schumer added, "and that would be very dangerous for the United States.
After his speech in the Senate, the Ukrainian president headed to the House of Representatives, where he is expected to convince the Republicans who lead the chamber to support a bill to provide aid to Ukraine.
