The American hosting provider GoDaddy, the world's largest domain registrar, has announced that it will stop working with clients from Russia starting in 2024.

Source. This is reported by moscowtimes.eu with reference to a letter from the company that Russian users received.

"According to our information, you or a contact listed in your account may be located in the Russian Federation. If our information is correct, access to your accounts and/or related services will be closed on December 31, 2023," the letter reads.

The notice also emphasizes that clients from Russia should transfer their websites to another registrar by December 31.

"Your access to all data and content stored with us will be closed on December 31, 2023, and we will not be able to provide you with backups," GoDaddy warned.

The American company became the third foreign hoster to stop working with Russian clients. Earlier, FastComet announced that it would not provide services to Russians from October 1 and disabled access to the site from the territory of Russia.

A week earlier, the German hosting provider Hetzner announced the termination of contracts with Russians from January 31, 2024. The company explained this by the "tense geopolitical situation" and changes in corporate laws.

Background. Meanwhile, it was reported that the refusal of the Binance crypto exchange from the ruble and its transfer to CommEX may be related to the illegal activities of the exchange.
