Polish protesters to block Dorohusk checkpoint again after court ruling in their favor
The blockade will last at least until January 3, and at some checkpoints longer

On Friday, a local Polish court overturned the decision of the head of the Dorohusk Commune (wójt) to ban the blockade of the Yagodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint.
Source. This was reported by the leader of the protesters and a representative of the far-right National Movement, Rafal Mekler.
"We are returning to the border," Meckler wrote in his Twitter (X).
As reported, the head of the Dorohusk Commune dissolved the protest of Polish carriers on December 11 at 14:00 Kyiv time, and later refused to satisfy a new application for a protest.
The action of Polish carriers to blockade the checkpoints Yagodyn-Dorohusk, Krakivets-Korchova and Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne began on November 6, and on November 22 the blockade extended to the checkpoint Shehyni-Medyka, while only empty transport and light vehicles checkpoints remained unblocked, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
The organizers of the blockade, who demand the abolition of the "transport visa-free regime" for Ukraine introduced with the war, reported that, according to the official permission of local authorities, the action would last until January 3, 2024, but some checkpoints already have permits to extend it until February.
The Ukrainian side had hoped to unblock the border after the new government led by Donald Tusk came to power in Poland earlier this week, but this did not happen anywhere else except Dorohusk.
According to the State Customs Service, total exports by road from Ukraine in November fell by 26.7% to 783,000 tons, while imports fell by 23.5% to 967,100 tons.
In particular, exports via Poland fell by 39.3% to 282.3 thousand tons, while imports fell by 44.6% to 511.6 thousand tons.
The biggest drop among the four blocked checkpoints was recorded at Yahodyn-Dorohusk: exports dropped almost fivefold to 32.4 thousand tons, while imports fell 3.1 times to 113.7 thousand tons.
Background. Meanwhile, today it became known that Slovakia has unblocked truck traffic at the Vysne Nemecke checkpoint. Border guards emphasize that the unblocking may be for an indefinite period.
