Tesla will not remain the world leader in electric vehicles in 2024 - Bloomberg
It may lose its leadership to China's BYD

The American company Tesla, owned by Elon Musk, has been the unchanging world leader in terms of production and sales of electric vehicles since its inception. However, if Tesla does not show unexpectedly high sales in the fourth quarter of 2023, it will lose its leadership to China's BYD.
Source. Bloomberg writes about it.
On Monday, January 1, BYD reported sales of 526,409 electric vehicles in the fourth quarter. For the year, it produced 3.01 million vehicles (including hybrids) and broke into the top 10 global manufacturers, equal to Suzuki.
On Tuesday, Tesla will report on physical sales for the last quarter of last year. It is expected that Elon Musk's company will fulfill the annual plan of 1.8 million, and in the fourth quarter there will be 483,200 units. It is possible that sales will be higher due to the updated Model 3 and the Cybertruck pickup truck.
But, as the publication notes, this will not be enough to get ahead of BYD.
Background. As reported, Tesla's electric vehicle deliveries in the third quarter did not meet investors' expectations.
