In Russia, a Rosgvardia colonel was imprisoned for purchasing unsuitable radars for the defense of the Crimean bridge
The radars were supposed to protect the Crimean bridge from drones, but proved to be unsuitable for this purpose

A Moscow military court on Tuesday sentenced a Rosgvardia colonel to six years in prison, finding him guilty of purchasing radars that were supposed to protect the Crimean bridge from drones but proved unsuitable for this purpose.
According to Mediaphone, Colonel Sergei Volkov was the head of the Rosgvardia's maritime department and in this capacity signed a contract with the Rostov-on-Don Research Institute of Radio Communications (RNIRC) for almost 400 million rubles to supply two radars that could be used, among other things, to protect the Crimean bridge.
However, according to the investigation and the court, it turned out that the purchased radars could not perform this function.
"During the verdict, the judge clarified that the system Volkov bought was in good condition, but not suitable for protection against drones. The complex will be modified – based on the amount spent on the additions, the damages will be assessed," Mediaphone writes.
The arrest of the head of the maritime department of the Rosgvardia became known at the end of March 2023.
Background. As a reminder, Ben Hodges prepared a plan for Ukraine to destroy the Crimean bridge.
