Sam Altman: a breakthrough in the invention of a powerful energy source is needed for the development of artificial intelligence
According to him, ecological alternatives and nuclear fusion can become such a source

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research laboratory, said in Davos that the future development of artificial intelligence requires an energy breakthrough that will provide humanity with much more energy than people have received so far.

Speaking at a Bloomberg event on the sidelines of the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Altman said the advantage is that more climate-friendly energy sources, such as nuclear fusion or cheaper solar power and storage, will give a boost to artificial intelligence.
"There is no way to achieve this without an energy breakthrough. This motivates us to invest more in (nuclear) fusion," Altman said.
He added that he would also like the world to see nuclear fission as an inexhaustible source of energy.
