Igor Mazepa is released from jail on bail

Ukrainian businessman, CEO and founder of Concorde Capital investment company Igor Mazepa has been released from jail. He was released on bail of UAH 21 million.

This was reported by Forbes on Tuesday evening, January 23.

The information was confirmed by the press service of Concorde Capital.

Earlier that day, the court reduced the bail for the defendant from UAH 349 million to UAH 21 million. Thus, the amount of UAH 21 million was enough for Mazepa to be released.

The businessman is a suspect in the case of illegal land acquisition near the Kyiv HPP. The case is being investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation.

As reported, on January 18, SBI officers, together with the National Police's Special Investigations Department, detained Mazepa on the Ukrainian-Polish border for allegedly organizing a scheme to illegally seize land plots with a total area of 2.4 hectares, where the hydraulic structures of the critical infrastructure, the Kyiv HPP, are located.

Meanwhile, Ihor Mazepa himself believes that his detention is related to his participation in the Manifesto 42 movement. The movement is engaged in protests against law enforcement arbitrariness in the business sector.

The day before, businessmen participating in the Manifesto 42 movement met with the authorities after the arrest of Igor Mazepa. Earlier, the movement announced that on February 1, it would suspend the work of companies for one hour if the government does not start solving the problem of pressure on business.
