British King Charles III diagnosed with cancer
Buckingham Palace has warned that he will step down from public affairs for the duration of treatment

During his hospitalisation for an enlarged prostate, King Charles III of the United Kingdom was diagnosed with cancer, the press service of Buckingham Palace reported on Twitter.
"His Majesty began regular treatment today, during which doctors have advised him to postpone public duties," the statement said. "During this period, His Majesty will continue to attend to state business and official paperwork as normal.
The press service does not disclose what type of cancer Charles III was diagnosed with, as well as the stage and doctors' prognosis, stressing that it is not prostate cancer.
The King "has decided to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope that it will help public understanding of all those people around the world who are suffering from cancer".
The statement said that Charles III is confident in his treatment and hopes to return to public duties as soon as possible.
The Daily Mail, citing a source close to Prince Harry, who now lives in the United States with his wife Meghan Markle, said that he had spoken to the king and intends to come to Britain to meet his father in the near future.
