The US bans imports of Russian diamonds, even after processing, and imposes sanctions on the ship that broke the oil price ceiling
Five companies registered in the UAE and Liberia sold oil on this tanker at $80 per barrel

The U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announces that starting 1 March, the U.S. will ban imports of certain large categories of diamonds mined in Russia, even if they are substantially processed in third countries.
Source. This was reported by the BBC.
This is the implementation of the decision of the Group of Seven adopted in December, when the EU countries banned the import of non-commercial diamonds.
The US ban also applies to nonindustrial diamonds mined in Russia, diamond jewellery and unsorted diamonds mined or exported from Russia.
At the same time, OFAC imposed sanctions against the NS Leader, which allegedly transported oil at a price above the ceiling of $60 per barrel, and five firms registered in the UAE and Liberia that sold the oil carried on this tanker at $80 per barrel, and operated and owned the vessel.
The ultimate owner of the tanker is Russia. The NS Leader will be subject to arrest if it comes under US jurisdiction.
Background. As reported, US sanctions have halted the supply of icebreakers to Russia's LNG plant in the Arctic.
