ISW: Shoigu's statement about Ukrainian Armed Forces being pushed out of Krynky village on Kherson region's left bank is not true
The statement could have been made by the Kremlin in advance to increase the information effect before the presidential elections

ISW analysts have refuted the statements made by Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu about the seizure of the village of Krynky by the Russian Armed Forces. According to open sources, as well as Ukrainian and even Russian reports, the Ukrainian Armed Forces still maintain a limited foothold in the area.
ISW has not found any visual evidence of significant Russian troop advances in the area of the limited Ukrainian foothold in Krynky.
Natalia Humeniuk of the JC "South" confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are gradually expanding their territory.
Russian sources also reported constant fighting in the area and did not note any Russian successes, journalist Andriy Tsaplienko writes.
ISW also believes that the statement about the capture of Krynka could have been made by the Kremlin in advance to increase the information effect before the presidential elections in March 2024.
Background. Earlier, British intelligence reported that the Russian army lacks the combat capability to take advantage of the capture of Avdiivka.
