Media discuss the possibility of transferring French Mirage fighters to Ukraine
Kyiv needs Mirage 2000D aircraft for ground attacks, including with SCALP missiles

Negotiations are underway to discuss the possibility of Kyiv receiving French Mirage 2000 multi-role fighters, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
It is not known which version of the Mirage 2000 is being discussed. Most observers agree that Kyiv needs Mirage 2000D aircraft optimised for ground attacks, including the use of stealthy SCALP cruise missiles.
France also has older Mirage 2000C fighters designed for air defence. They are being gradually decommissioned and may also be transferred to Ukraine.
"Which model Kyiv prefers probably depends on what they want to do with the Mirage: shoot at Russian planes or strike Russian targets on land and sea," Forbes writes.
Background. Earlier it became known that Denmark would provide Ukraine with the first F-16 fighter jets this summer, but it did not say how many aircraft would be transferred to Ukraine.
