Finland says it is not against Ukraine attacking Russia with its weapons
UN Charter allows attacking military targets across land borders, politicians say

Finland has not imposed any restrictions on what Ukraine can do with the weapons it supplies, Finnish Defence Minister Antti Hakkanen has said.
Source. This was reported by the Yle TV company.
Among other things, Finland has not banned the use of these weapons in Russia. Hakkanen added that such a ban is imposed mainly by countries that have provided Ukraine with long-range weapons systems.
"If necessary, Ukraine should also strike at military targets on Russian territory," said Jukka Kopra, chairman of the Finnish parliamentary defence committee. The UN Charter allows us to attack military targets across land borders."
Since 2022, Finland has been supplying Ukraine with financial assistance and weapons, including anti-tank guns, rifles, ammunition and field rations. Finland has been a NATO member since April 2023.
At the end of February 2023, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke out against supplying Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles because of fears that Ukraine would use them on Russian territory and thus draw Germany into the conflict.
The Taurus missile can reach speeds of up to 900 km/h and has a range of up to 500 km, despite the fact that Moscow is 450 km from the border with Ukraine.
