Media: Macron ready to send army to Ukraine in case of frontline breakthrough to Odesa or Kyiv
French president seriously assesses the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine

The leader of the French Communist Party, Fabien Roussel, said that during a meeting with party leaders, President Emmanuel Macron discussed a scenario in which troops could be sent to Ukraine, L'Indépendant newspaper reports.
The French president claimed that he could send troops to Ukraine if there was a breakthrough in the frontline towards Odesa or Kyiv.
Other party representatives also commented to the newspaper.
"There are no borders and no red lines," said Jordan Bardella of the National Rally.
"I came here worried and left even more worried," explained Manuel Bompard, a representative of the Rise of France.
The French authorities are considering allowing special forces and military units to cross the border into Ukraine, Le Monde reported. According to the newspaper's sources, Paris proposed to allow them to cross the Ukrainian border in order to create a "strategic dilemma" for Russia.
For the first time, Macron announced the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine in late February. "Today there is no consensus on sending ground troops in an official, predictable and approved way. But in the future, nothing can be ruled out," he said following the EU leaders' summit in Paris.
The statement was deliberate, Macron explained a few days later, dismissing the criticism his words had provoked among allies, including Germany: "These are very serious issues; every word I say on this is balanced, thoughtful and verified."
Background. It has also been reported that Canada is allowing the deployment of its instructors to Ukraine to train the military.
