White House does not support Republican idea to provide aid to Ukraine on credit
She called on Congress to approve the bill to help Ukraine, which has already passed the Senate

White House spokesperson Karin Jean-Pierre said that congressmen should approve additional aid to Ukraine rather than discuss the idea of providing this funding on credit.
"We see Ukraine losing ground on the battlefield due to the inaction of Congress over the past few months. So the only right thing to do is to give Ukraine what it needs: a package of additional funding," Jean-Pierre said at a briefing on Tuesday, referring to the aid bill that the US Senate had previously approved.
During his visit to Kyiv, US Senator Lindsey Graham told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that the most likely way to provide US aid is an interest-free loan. Similar ideas were voiced earlier by former US President Donald Trump.
The Senate approved a $95bn emergency spending package in February. The package includes $60bn to help Kyiv, as well as funds for Israel, Taiwan and humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, for his part, refused to consider the document, demanding that Democrats first support tough reforms in US immigration policy.
Earlier, it became known that Mike Johnson actually agreed to unblock the decision to help Ukraine, but with significant changes – that it should be a project from the House of Representatives and assistance in the form of a loan or a land loan.
Background. Earlier it became known that the US Congress is developing a new draft bill to help Ukraine, which proposes to allocate money to it in the form of a loan.
