Biden administration to deliver F-35 fighter jets and heavy bombs to Israel
The total value of the transfers is $2.5bn, which were approved years ago

In recent days, the Biden administration has authorised the transfer of billions of dollars worth of bombs and fighter jets to Israel without announcing it publicly.
Source. The Washington Post writes about this.
This was done despite Washington's concerns about the planned IDF offensive in the southern Gaza Strip, which could result in hundreds of thousands of civilian casualties.
Sources in the Pentagon and the State Department say that the new arms packages for Israel include more than 1,800 MK84 heavy bombs and 500 MK82s.
In addition, the US government is going to transfer 25 F-35A fighter jets, as well as spare parts and engines for them, for a total of $2.5 billion.
The deals were approved by Congress many years ago, but the planes and bombs have not been shipped to Israel since then.
In this regard, there was no need to notify parliamentarians of the deliveries, the newspaper notes.
According to WP, this event underscores that although the United States and Israel have disagreements over the methods of warfare, the Biden administration is not considering stopping arms supplies to Israel.
Earlier, The Washington Post reported that US President Joe Biden, who takes a pro-Israeli stance, is increasingly distancing himself from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The president's advisers are urging him to publicly condemn Israel's actions in Gaza, as the Israeli government ignores American opinion and continues the military operation according to its own rules, which leads to the deaths of civilians.
At the same time, Netanyahu declared Israel's intention to bring the war with Hamas to a final victory.
On 25 March, during a vote in the UN Security Council, the United States abstained from voting on a resolution on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which it had repeatedly blocked. As a result, it was adopted almost unanimously.
