French authorities confiscate Villa Suzanne on the Côte d'Azur from Lyudmila Putin's husband
Human rights activists have succeeded in verifying the origin of the funds used to purchase the villa

Villa Suzanne was confiscated from entrepreneur Arthur Ocheretny, the current husband of Russian President Vladimir Putin's ex-wife, in December 2023.
Source. This was reported by the Medusa media outlet.
The seizure took place after a complaint from the French branch of Transparency International – human rights activists demanded to verify the origin of the funds used to purchase the villa.
Now the villa looks abandoned and no one lives there.
The estimated value of Villa Suzanne is 5.4 million euros. It is a 450-square-metre mansion with 8 bedrooms and a surrounding area of 5,000 square metres.
The villa first came to light in 2017, when journalists from the Centre for the Study of Corruption and Organised Crime (OCCRP) released an investigation into Ocheretnyi's finances. According to the documents studied by journalists, the villa was purchased in late 2013.
Earlier, after a complaint from the anti-corruption organisation Transparency International France, the authorities searched the villa. After the outbreak of war, graffiti with the Ukrainian flag and the words "Fuck Putin" appeared on its walls.
