$61 billion and ATACMS: Congress unveils new aid bill for Ukraine - without Israel

The U.S. House of Representatives has unveiled a bill to help Ukraine.

It provides for $61 billion and demands that the US president provide Ukraine with ATACMS missiles.

Of the $61 billion, $23 billion should be used to replenish the US arsenal.

The aid will be provided in the form of a loan.

To cover the debt, the bill provides for the confiscation of the assets of the so-called Russia.

If the bill is passed on Saturday, it will go to the Senate.

However, if the House introduces amendments, the process will be delayed as the Senate will go on holiday.

If the Senate also introduces amendments, the bill will return to the House of Representatives, where it will either be supported or finally rejected.

Background. As a reminder, Speaker Mike Johnson said that the bill on US aid for Ukraine would be put to a vote on Saturday evening. Prior to that, Biden spoke with four congressional leaders, stressing the "urgency" of the issue.
