France donates 13 vehicles to Ukraine for mobile police teams to combat violence
Due to the full-scale war, tension in society is growing, and so is the percentage of domestic violence cases

The French government has donated 13 vehicles for mobile police teams to combat gender-based violence. The vehicles will be used in Sumy and Dnipro regions.

"Currently, due to the full-scale war, tension in society is growing, so the percentage of cases of domestic violence is also increasing. Compared to previous periods, it is expected that the level of domestic violence cases will increase by up to 30%. Therefore, we are already preparing our units," the agency quoted Deputy Interior Minister Kateryna Pavlichenko as saying.
Currently, about 600 police officers are involved in mobile groups that deal with combating and preventing violence.
"13 vehicles were equipped and transferred with the support of UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, with the support of the French government under the international technical assistance project "Support to the Police to Create an Effective Model for Responding to Domestic Violence and Gender-Based Violence in War and Transition," the Interior Ministry said.
Background. It was also reported that Latvia had donated equipment to Ukraine to restore the power system. The aid includes a high-voltage transformer, 60 tonnes of transformer oil and an air compressor.
