Three Russian students detained in Finland for exporting dual-use goods
In such situations, law enforcement agencies are usually interested in the export of electronics, sensors or lasers

Three students of the Kainuu College with Russian citizenship – two men aged 25 and an 18-year-old girl – were detained in Finland on suspicion of exporting dual-use goods abroad – what kind of goods is not specified.
Source. This was reported by the Finnish Yle.
The police operation took place in the premises of the school and the city dormitory on 30 April. The detained students were demanded to be placed under arrest, and the court will decide on a preventive measure on 3 May.
Yle writes that in such situations, law enforcement agencies usually show interest in the export of electronics, sensors or lasers. Such goods may violate the law.
In March 2014, a court in Finland sentenced Gabriel Temin, a French citizen and CEO of Finnish logistics companies Luminor and Siberica, to nine months' suspended imprisonment for violating export restrictions. According to the investigation, his companies shipped various products to Russia in violation of the sanctions. This was the first sentence in the country related to the violation of sanctions against Russia.
Background. As reported, the US C4ADS has named Turkey as the main hub for transshipment of Western military parts to Russia. Experts called Turkey the "Achilles' heel" of Western sanctions.
